It’s been the 1st year of your passing, and I still can’t believe our Yorkie-poo named #Vegas is gone, we have #Manx to greet me at the door, when I come home from work, or laying beside me watching TV, but still miss him dearly…

#Thunderstorms not impressed… #BadManxBuggy

Well, I was feeling pretty good that the buggy was stable enough to take my wife for a cruise today. I checked the weather and double checked the radar and off we go…

Well, yup, you guessed it, we didn’t get 15 minutes out and the first few drops hit… Oh I was so upset, all my hard work and within seconds is was all messed up.

We pulled under a tree and thought it would last long. One of the home owners came out to talk, turns out he had an orange buggy when he turned 16… a neighbor offered his garage to park in and wait it out. We had a chat for a bit, the rain was slowing down, I checked the radar and more was on its way, plus weather warning were posted now…

We thanks the wonderful people and took a run for it…

Well, now now it’s clean up time…

Feeling confident I’m making progress on #BadManxBuggy

Well here is the latest on my progress,

  • The oil and filter has been changed (first oil since 2015 when I started this project)
  • Added some carb cleaner to the fuel, cause after the tune up it wasn’t running great and was missing
  • Static tuned it up… I need to get me a strobe light to fine tune it…
  • Took it out for a longer spin and still not right, so back to the garage
  • Checked the wiring and found #1 not firing
  • Dug out some old wires and plugs
  • Replaced the plug first to troubleshoot and it fixed my issue,
  • Took it for another spin and yes! I got my 46 ponies back 😉

So, things are looking good, time to go on a really long cruise tomorrow. It’s been a long time and a lot of work, so I think I deserve it.

But first, gotta tighten up the clutch cable a little more. I’m sure there will be a few more tweaks yet.
