Interesting story, and #Hagerty will not insure a Meyers Manx #DuneBuggy really! My insurance has gone up from ~200.00 bucks a year (when #INTAC dumped me after requesting an appraisal… NICE; I’ll never do business with them again) to ~2400.00; Nordique is the only insurance company in Ontario, Canada.
Well, I guess it’s not their fault, but, if they are the only company to insure my classic authenticated Manx, then, they have all our nutz in a vise, dictating the price. I’m not ready to put it up on the #Barrett-Jackson auctioning block yet, but, when retired it may not be an option at $2400.00 bucks a year!
This my rant for the day #F^ck_2020 and come on 2021, I never looked forward to a new year, until, this year.
Well, this is so disappointing to #BadManxBuggy… I was looking forward to debuting my hard work (and kudos to my bro Bruce for the chassis work and painting) for the past 4 years…
Yup, everything was aligned the moon, stars, my shift work, the weather…? rain or shine the show must go on, the front end, tuned up, polished and shined and, BOOM…

R.I.P. #Vegas April 14/2010 – Nov 13/2018 – you are sadly missed
Yeah, I’m so disappointed, I have happy memories of my dad and mom at this show ever since starting to attend #Volkswagen shows. This was the first show that #BadManxBuggy was ever in and I was bitten by the show #bug – pun intended… cheers to dad; R.I.P. free from #Cancer
it took me longer than expected to finish up the few pieces and I just took it for a spin… and….
To do list:
Adjust the clutch… I can’t get it in reverse
Adjust the brakes… the peddle is too low
Adjust the headlights
Align the front end and make sure everything is tight
Checked that the electrical system is charging properly
And that’s just from the first run… yeah really disappointed… but I can’t rush perfection.
Here is a shot of it, off the jack stands in 3 years and back on the ground.
Damn, it felt so good cruising in #BadManxBuggy once again, after 3 long years of blood, sweat and tears…. So disappointed…. ;-(
Oh yeah, some day #BadManxBuggy wants to make the trip and enjoy the show.
I have been busy putting the last few major pieces back together, cleaned up the engine, put the baja bumper back together and started fitting it last night. Should have that done by the end of the day. After that, reinstalling the side pods, the rear tires… check it over and take for the first spin since 2015…
Fabricating some backing plates for the roll bar to help support the roll bar, on the fiber glass body.
All the little things that take the time… but you can’t rush #Perfection lol…. Unpolished, they still need to be shinny…
Can’t wait, it has been a long time since I’ve felt the engine roar and the wind in my hair.
