Let the shows begin, and I’m still miles away from getting.. #badmanxbuggy back on the road again. ;-/
But things are shaping up, just if life would stop smacking us around and take a break.
Here is the latest update, and the body is getting ready to be dropped, or should I say set back down on the chassis.
Fuel line has been restored to the centre tower in stainless steel braided hose. Makes it nice and clean… that’s all folks!

The weather is starting to warm up here in Canada and I’m getting the “road-trip-fever”, check out some of the buggies from #acvwpassion
Nice clean look… I like it!
Oh cannot wait for the day I get my pride and joy back on the road for 2016. The way things are going right now it may be off the road for 2016. I am refurbishing the 1964 chassis and need left and right floor pans. I want the good 18 gauge OEM quality pans and right now they have been backordered until mid-May…
Not too happy with the way my project is going, I should have started sourcing the parts back in Oct or Nov of 2015.
Well that’s it for my update today
Here we go with an update, the best cruising we had in 2015;
was in the fall…. yeah go figure!
The summer of 2015 wasn’t the greatest. It was a cool and wet summer, but…
Well, a Canadian first was still driving the Buggy into the November! Usually by the end of October, it would have been winterized in the garage, up on blocks and the engine pickled, ready for the long cold winter ahead of us. Check out some of the last Indian Summer cruise nights of 2015.
Then mid November and the end of December 2015…
I made the sad decision to start ripping #BadManxBuggy apart and separate the body from the chassis. Separating the body from the chassis was a slow cautious process not to damage the paint job. Once everything was disconnected such as the fuel lines, electrical and all the bolts in the body were removed, I started inching the body off the chassis.
My son James and I built a wooden frame to support the body before hoisting it upward. Right now it is sitting inches away from rolling the chassis out from underneath it.
Now, I am in the process of sourcing the parts to restore the 1964 chassis. The Canadian dollar and shipping costs are killing me. I found what I need from http://www.cip1.ca — but, unfortunately one side of the floor panels are on backorder until middle of April.
Check out the progress so far, I will keep you posted on the progress and once the parts have been delivered…
Is this #Beetle hot or not? You decide! #ACVWPassion #Volkswagen #VW https://t.co/cbeRou5hnP
Oh yeah, maybe in another life… but sure looks sweet reborn into this hotrod #Beetle version.
The Canadian International Auto Show until Feb. 21/2016 in Toronto… Check out the Volkswagen concept car… man I want one…
Volkswagen’s reputation has taken a beating amid the emissions-cheating scandal, but this GTI Roadster concept helps provide a distraction. It originated as a computer-generated vehicle for the Sony Play Station Gran Turismo 6 game before Volkswagen decided to make one in metal.
Or a mighty GMC…
Or a Viper would be a nice toy…
The Dodge Viper ACR is street legal, but essentially a race car, with a 645-horsepower V-10 engine and elaborate aerodynamics that produce nearly a tonne of downforce at top speed.
And even something classis like this 1935 Chrysler…
Advertising for the ages
In the show’s Art and the Automobile section, cars from the past are exhibited next to the advertising that was used to promote them, ranging from a 1904 Oldsmobile to a 1963 Studebaker Avanti. Seen here is a 1935 Chrysler.
And Exotic for the adventure in us all…
This McLaren P1 belongs to electronic musician Deadmau5, and is parked next to his customized Lamborghini Huracan.
The show’s Auto Exotica section includes a Pagani Huayra with a 730-horsepower AMG twin-turbo V12. It’s parked, very carefully, next to a racing version of the McLaren F1 road car. The last time one of these was sold at auction it went for a reported $13.75 million US.
Hope that I can make some time to make it to the show…. Sweet!
